The new Adobe Media Player, available for Microsoft Windows and Mac, has released which offers full Flash standalone desktop player video playback for both online and offline.

Adobe media features videos from CBS, MTV, Universal Music Group, PBS, CondeNet and Scripts Networks with playback in 1080p, 720p or 480i video with advanced audio.

The company is also trying to claim a revenue model for itself and content publishers which include targeted marketing, dynamic advertising and player customization.

The Flash supported media player also has subscriptions to TV shows as a cross between TV Guide and RSS feeds. However, downloads can only take place if the player is active.

Content publishers can get "anonymous measurement of content usage data, such as when and how often a video has been viewed." The player also will support protected streaming, advertising protection and video DRM.

Adobe's Media is a video RSS aggregator tuned for Flash media. The UI has been designed specifically for on-demand TV-watching use cases, and with specific features for content creators like branding, advertising, measurement, and protection.

Panache, a video advertising service, also announced its support for Adobe Media Player. The ad company is working to give publishers the freedom and flexibility to deliver creative and lucrative advertising.
