Adobe Photoshop Express is a free web-based service that allows users to upload, store, edit and share photos online without the need for desktop software.

Adobe Photoshop Express was announced today which offers an online version of its famous photo editing software. The free service will launch in beta to and will provide users with 2 gigabytes of online storage.

"It's a solution for the everyday consumer," Doug Mack, Adobe's vice president of Consumer and Hosted Solutions said. Mack says the discreet service will appeal to consumers who only want to tweak their photos online but don't want to install desktop software.

Adobe also hopes to add quick tabs that will allow users of photo hosting sites such as Flickr, Facebook and Picasa the ability to do online edits and touch-up through its new online editor.

Photoshop Express will offer more features than regular hosted sites. In addition to editing, storing and sharing online photos, users can create Web slide shows and e-mail pictures to friends. The international company also has set up links to Facebook, Photobucket and Picasa, allowing users of those sites to automatically upload their pictures to Photoshop Express for a quick edits.

The graphical interface is both accessible and attractive, enabling users to build basic slideshows quickly, and share their slideshows by providing a link. The application interface is is based on Flash 9 technology and supports the full-screen mode.

The photoshop company also has suitable plans to improve the service during the initial beta by accepting user feedback and adding future additions to its graphical interface.
