Apple Inc is expected to unveil its next generation iPhone at an event in San Francisco on Monday and rumors are sweeping across the Web.

The new iPhone will operate on a new 3G mobile phone cellular network which can transfer data extremely faster.

Apple recently applied for a patent that lists new features that include built-in instant-messaging, video-chat capabilities, support for voice-activated commands and a GPS module.

The new phone is also expected to be 22 percent thinner than the current version with more memory and longer-lasting batteries.

iPhone will include a software upgrade designed to make it more business friendly. A recent survey by ChangeWave Research found that 13 percent of business-technology leaders say they'll buy iPhones in the third quarter of 2008. In contrast, 82 percent say they're planning to buy Research In Motion's BlackBerry devices in the third quarter, up five percentage points from the second quarter.

The new software upgrade will also include improved security and Microsoft Exchange email software integration.

For now, we can only wait until Monday when Steve Jobs makes the official announcements.
