Plug-in Hybrid Solutions For 2010 Ford Cars

Ford Motor Company recently announced an aggressive plan to bring 2010 Ford cars to market with plug-in solutions. The electric cars will also enter the market during the next four years. The plan introduces new fuel efficiency solutions for Ford hybrid cars and a next-generation plug in van in 2010. In addition, a new hybrid car with more gas saving technologies will be available in 2011.

"Ford is heading in the direction America and our customers want us to go, which is a green, high-tech and global future," Ford Executive Chairman Bill Ford said in a statement.

Electric cars have become a top priority for every American automaker. Ford wants to take the lead by offering a new battery-powered commercial van in 2010 and a new Ford hybrid car in 2011. The automaker also plans to offer a hybrid revision by 2012.

"I think that is where society would like to see the entire industry go, and Ford is going to lead that charge," Ford said.

Ford Hybrids will pave the way to include its popular midsize car platforms during the next four years. The new plug in vehicles will be powered by battery while helping to reduce the nation's dependence on foreign oil. The company is partnering with high-tech companies, which will help deliver the next-generation hybrid automobiles to the market more quickly.

Ford says that there is a growing number of consumers who want the hybrid choice in multiple vehicle categories, especially the popular models. The new vehicles will soon offer a driving range of between 40 to 100 miles on a single charge. The hybrids will not use a single drop of gasoline.

There are government incentives for buying new plug in cars. While the tax credit for buying a new hybrid car can act like an auto IRS discount, the available tax credits are for electric new cars. To qualify, make sure you buy the automobile before October 2009 as some of the benefits are expiring this year.
