Articles - 2010 Ford Fusion Sport Model Details

One of the best hybrid cars driving on the roads today is the 2010 Ford Fusion. The Fusion features a few new designs in comparison to its 2009 Ford predecessor. It offers a newly designed front end, including a powerfully domed hood and new headlamps, grille and larger fog-lamp area.

Most consumers seem to favor the sport model. The Ford Fusion features new aerodynamic enhancements and underbody to increase the car's fuel economy. While the previous Fusion only offered a five-speed transmission, the 2010 model has a six-speed lineup, which is available with either a manual or automatic transmission.

The 2010 Fusion electric steering system is responsive but offers little feedback. However, the gauge system is designed to coach you into fuel economy driving habits. The Ford Hybrid offers various screens and digital readouts that can be intimidating at first glance.

Like any new car, the Ford Fusion does take a few minutes to get used to all the buttons and readouts. The gauge needles sweep back and forth as the lighting and chimes come on. The ambient lighting system offers the option of illuminating the front and rear foot wells and front cup holders.

2010 Ford Fusion Features Comfortable Interior

The Ford hybrid car has padded door armrests. This was a feature that many people wanted in the previous model. The interior is very sharp and the materials still feel nicer than they look, but you see most of them more often than you touch them.

The Ford Fusion seats are surprisingly comfortable and supportive. This is something we can't always say about all midsize hybrids. The trunk is large enough to store a week's worth of luggage for four people and still offers generous space.

Fusion is also about uniqueness. Most Ford automobiles are coming out with a unique cap-less fuel-filler system that automatic opens and closes . The system can determine when you insert and remove the gas pump nozzle and is definitely a revolutionary idea that works.

While the car is competing with other quality and fuel economy leaders, it is still the most fuel-efficient midsize car. The hybrid sedan has a routine 2.5 liter, I4, 156hp engine and a variable speed automatic transmission. It also comes with a 36,000 mile/36 month basic warranty, but you have the option to add more protection in the 2010 Ford Fusion.
