Articles - 2010 Toyota Prius Hybrid Details
We've all seen the commercials on television promoting the new 2010 Toyota Prius Hybrid electric car and its fuel efficiency. There's no doubt that this electric car has one of the best leading MPG ratings available on the hybrid market. The hybrid stands out from other cars with its unique shape and interior design.
The Toyota Prius was introduced more than 10 years ago. The second-generation Prius electric car entered the market in 2004. Most of these first and second-generation models are still using its original electric batteries today.
Most people will say, "I would like to buy a Hybrid car, but you have to replace the battery." While this is true, as batteries do wear out, most hybrid batteries do not wear out in two years. The electric car batteries are designed to last ten years or longer.
All Prius electric cars come with a full eight-year or ten-year warranty. This warranty will cover the battery and all hybrid parts and components. If you are shopping for a new car, but are afraid of a new hybrid because of the battery, that's not exactly a good excuse.
Some people are afraid to buy a hybrid car because they're so new to the market. However, Toyota is one automaker that has spent more than a decade building electric cars. For example, the 2010 Prius might be new to the market, but its product line has ten years of proven reliability.
Toyota Prius Hybrid Buying Tips
You could purchase a used Toyota Prius Hybrid if you don't want to buy a new one. The Prius is good whether it's new or used. There are several of these electric vehicles on the road today and some Toyota dealerships still offer a great warranty.
If you are shopping for a used Prius, I would shop at a dealer before buying one from a private consumer. However, a friend of mine did purchase one out of the classifieds and is very happy with it. The seller saved all the receipts and the hybrid is still under warranty.
The 2010 Toyota Prius Hybrid gas mileage is very attractive that offers 51 mpg in the city and 48 mpg on the highway. The Toyota Prius price is $22,000 brand new, but it depends on what options you want. You can read more about this from one of out latest 2010 Toyota Prius Hybrid Reviews that will provide more details.
