Someone in New York City is selling a 12×23 Greenwich Village garage for $1 million to anyone who would like perfect parking space. It’s expensive to own a car in the big city, but it can cost you more just to park it.
The garage that boasts a cut curb for street access will be available at 6 times the average cost for a single-family home nationally this fall after construction on the rest of the up-scale condo complex is finished.
“It’s for someone who wants complete privacy,” said Prudential Douglas Elliman Vice Chairman Dolly Lenz. “You can drive in and not be seen again. It’s for the type of person who finds that attractive. It could be a celebrity or a business person who is camera shy.”
The developer of the condo complex says that the garage space will be available to whom ever buys the penthouse condo or an 8,000 square foot town house in the building, and added that with a 15-foot ceiling one could install an elevator lift and park two vehicles in the spot.
The $1 million-dollar spot will come with its own deed and paperwork. The owner will also have to pay annual maintenance fees on the spot.
