Christmas Tree Tax 15 Cents – A new Christmas tree tax is stirring debate on whether the 15 cents is worth it.
Growers want to use the money to promote fresh trees against the artificial ones.
Fifteen cents. Can’t mail a letter with that. Can’t buy a cup of coffee. And let’s face it, the days of penny candy are long gone.
But you can create conservative outrage.
The economy is barely growing and nine percent of the American people have no jobs. Is a new tax on Christmas trees the best President Obama can do?
And, by the way, the American Christmas tree has a great image that doesn’t need any help from the government.
That comes from David S. Addington at the conservative Heritage Foundation.
“Obama’s new Christmas tree tax,” screams the Drudge Report.
“Scrooge comes early this year,” says Forbes.
And, of course, Fox News weighed in: “Merry Christmas? Agriculture Department imposes Christmas tree tax.”
