Costco customers in Bellingham, Washington are currently in a border war with their Canadian neighbors. The United States residents are hoping that the wholesale store will establish American-only shopping hours at this location.

It seems that the Canadians are taking advantage of their strong dollar and stocking up on everything that the store has to offer.

“We come down here a couple of times a month, and we save a fair bit of money,” Vancouver resident Rob Weeks stated to CBS News.

Bellingham residents’ have even started a Facebook group called “Bellingham Costco needs a special time just for Americans” that discusses their concern about the Costco store. “It’s hard to find a parking spot. The lines are crazy” wrote one fan of the page. “The overcrowding is causing some to be rude. We just want to go shopping like everyone else, not go on an adventure.”

On the other hand, many other fans of this page are showing their gratitude for the Canadian shoppers.

“For anyone who feels differently and welcomes our neighbors to the North, feel free to find a home at our page. And neighbors to the North, please join us! The negativity is a vocal few, emboldened by the media attention. Most of us are still pretty big fans of the wonderful relationship we have with Canada, and can focus on the bigger picture that residents of Whatcom County and the Lower Mainland both live in one of the most beautiful areas in North America, and have lots to share and enjoy together. :) Thanks,” stated Welcome To Bellingham, Canadians! – We Appreciate You.
