Ben and Jerry’s has come up with a clever ice cream product to secure your favorite pint-size treat with a lock that fits right over the lid. In fact, it keeps those hungry snatchers away from your freezer.
The “Euphori-Lock,” fits right over the lid, clamping it down so a roommate or a member of the family can’t get into it without the combination and gobble up a pint of your favorite ice cream flavor.
“This delightfully tongue-in-cheek concept actually came from one of our customers, who suggested we start selling our ice cream in stainless steel containers with little padlocks on them,” smiles Katie O’Brien, Ben and Jerry’s Merchandise Maven and the brains that brought Euphori-lock from delightful daydream to rugged reality.
The lock has actually been around since 2002 but has just recently gotten some notoriety around the web.
An inscription on the side of the lock reads; “I’m terribly sorry, but there is no ‘u’ in ‘my pint.'”
The lock can be bought in the miscellaneous section of the Ben & Jerry’s website store for a price of $6.64. It is a two-piece lock that locks together to prevent the lid from being removed. It has 3 numbered combination lock built into it.
