The business website, 24/7 Wall Street, has compiled a ranking of the most hated companies in America and Facebook tops their list.
It’s ironic that Facebook is listed as the most hated considering it currently has over 800 million user’s. But the list was partly compiled by using customer satisfaction survey data, and with more customers comes more dissatisfied ones. Facebook had the lowest scores of any customer satisfaction survey compiled. The most notable complaint is the fact that Facebook has long neglected personal privacy of its users and has forced changes on them about how personal info is shared.
Next on the list was American Airlines, siting after losing shareholders money by filing chapter 11 bankruptcy, the airline is known as the worst when it comes to customer satisfaction in the industry. American has had the worst on-time record and has had more then a fair share of incidences of losing baggage, bumping passengers, and canceling flights, for the last 5 years, according to the surveys authors.
AT&T was number three on the list, mainly due to the fact it received the worst scores from JD Power, for wireless customer care performance. And then their was the attempt to buyout T-Mobile in order to create a monopoly which, if it occurred created fear that it would have given AT&T the extraordinary power to set prices.
Rounding the top 5 was Nokia at number 4, with its stock falling more then 50% over the past year and tied for last in JD Powers wireless customer satisfaction report. At number 5 was Goldman Sachs, for mainly its fraudulent dealings that came to light in 2010.
