Adele has gone through true heartbreak, which some say has led her to a drinking problem, and it could all stem from an old boyfriend who dumped her for his gay best friend.
You can hear it in her voice and the words she wrote down as lyrics. Those soulful songs are real, and they got her through the worse times in her life. Some people say that everything has a purpose.
The new book, “Adele: The Biography,” focuses on the Grammy-winning artist hopeless relationship that goes back as far as her childhood in London. According to the Daily Mail, author Marc Shapiro focuses closely on the alleged incident, that happened on Adele’s 18th birthday and was the driving force behind her music.
“One thing we know is that it was a first love gone terribly bad,” Shapiro writes in the book. “Adele had professed her love, and he did the same; she had known he was bisexual but, in the rush of romance, felt they could make it work. Four hours after laying their emotional cards on the table, the boy ran off with one of Adele’s gay friends!”
This book also discusses Adele’s alleged drinking issue, and her attraction to men who treat her badly.
“Adele would drink more than normal to salve the heartbreak,” Shapiro told In Touch Weekly. In addition, he notes that halfway through Adele’s first tour, “she allegedly had a drinking problem.”
