Ben Affleck decided to celebrate his Oscar win by shaving off his beard. The 40-year-old “Argo” director parted ways with his facial hair as he marked “the end of a chapter” at George Clooney’s after-party held at Craig’s restaurant in West Hollywood.
The actor apparently took the clippers and stood in a hallway in front of the bathroom, just hours after accepting the gold statue for Best Picture at the 85th Academy Awards.
Joined at the party with Affleck were Argo’s co-producers Grant Heslov and Clooney, as well as co-star Bryan Cranston. It was also alleged that a few people who stood in the hallway got to do shave his beardas well.
A source revealed that the father-of-three decided to get rid of the beard as a toast to new beginnings.
“He did it to mark the end of a chapter. It had that ceremonial quality to it,” a source said.
Affleck thanked his wife when he accepted his award.
