Alec Baldwin Pokes Fun At American Airlines On ‘SNL’

Alec Baldwin – Alec Baldwin apologizes to himself on Saturday Night Live. The apology comes after a week of controversial comments about the airline industry and American Airlines. The air carrier kicked him off a flight for not shutting down his portable device before take off.

Baldwin appeared cheerful as usual during his SNL ‘Weekend Update’ segment and continued to mock the industry, pretending to be an American Airlines pilot and issuing an apology to Baldwin for the inconvenience.

“It was awful. That’s why it was very important for me to come here and on behalf of everyone at American Airlines issue an apology to Mr. Alec Baldwin… an American treasure,” said Baldwin,

Baldwin had said he thought he was being singled out when asked to turn off his tablet in which he was playing ‘Word With Friends’ and other passengers where not asked turn their devices off. He then went on a bit of a rant and was asked to depart the plane by the pilot slamming a bathroom door on the way out.

On SNL after apologizing to himself he said it is all just a big joke inside the airline industry to have people turn off devices before flying.

“Would you really get on an airplane that flies 30,000 feet in the air if you thought one Kindle switch would bring it down? C’mon! It’s just a cruel joke perpetrated by the airline industry,” Baldwin-as-pilot said.
