Alicia Keys has rented a large crane and a team of movers to help the R&B singer move out of her New York City penthouse.
The crane carried a lot of expensive furniture, boxes, and musical gear. Everything was placed into offload containers, big enough for a large construction project, but hey, this is Keys we’re talking about, so she only gets the best.
Manhattan is one of the worst places to move, with crowded streets and air pollution, so it’s probably the main reason Keys didn’t attempt the freight elevators and went straight for the crane.
We’re told the penthouse is worth $15 million, so it has a lot of elegant items, such as furniture and even a grand piano.
In fact, there were racks of evening groans in those shipping containers, dishes, wine glasses, and mirrors. There is no word on exactly what the singer and her husband, Swizz Beats, moved, but it had previously filled 6,000 square feet of living space.
The penthouse had once belonged to Lenny Kravitz before Keys bought it in 2010, but now it has been re-sold, and she and Swizz are moving to a larger mansion in nearby New Jersey.
Keys is moving into a house that belonged to comedian Eddie Murphy. You can definitely get more space for your money in New Jersey.
