Alicia Silverstone was caught on camera feeding her 10-month-old son by chewing up food and spitting it down his throat. What on Earth possessed her to do that? Perhaps she’s been watching too many Animal Shows on Planet Green.
It’s surprising behavior coming from Alicia Silverstone, who is teaching this unhealthy eating habit, but it could be a new trend.
The former “Clueless” star isn’t shy about it either because she showed fans and moms everywhere what she and her family do during dinner time on her website. If you do see a video of this behavior, make sure it’s after you eat. It’s not that great to watch and some of our staff members described it as “gross.”
“I just had a delicious breakfast of miso soup, collards and radish steamed and drizzled with flax oil, cast iron mochi with nori wrapped outside, and some grated daikon,” she wrote on her lifestyle blog. “Yum! I fed Bear the mochi and a tiny bit of veggies from the soup … from my mouth to his. It’s his favorite … and mine.”
Silverstone, 35, is seen chewing her food from a bowl before having her son, Bear Blu, gulp the pre-chewed with milk. “He literally crawls across the room to attack my mouth if I’m eating,” she wrote. Fans commented on her blog with mixed reactions.
“I understand the benefits of this, but I’ve read a lot of studies that says that this can promote dental decay because you can transfer the bacteria that is in your mouth,” one woman commented.
“Children should learn to eat with a spoon,” another wrote. “We are not birds, we are humans and if this works for Alicia and Bear then so be it.
“What is gonna happen when he gets a little older and sees someone eating, it would be quite embarassing for Bear to go to them and try to eat the food they are already eating.”
Silverstone has authored books and recipes on ways to live a “kind” life. She has long promoted a healthy, vegan diet.
