Rumor has it that CNN anchor Anderson Cooper, 45, is planning to marry his boyfriend as early as Labor Day.
Over the past few years, the American journalist’s sexual preference has been a topic for much debate; however, a few weeks ago, Cooper decided that it was time for him to set the record straight by saying that he is not.
“The fact is, I’m gay, always have been, always will be, and I couldn’t be more happy,” Cooper stated.
For the last three years, he has been in a serious relationship with Ben Maisani, 36, who is a co-owner of a gay bar named Eastern Bloc. Reportedly, the television personality has been dating Ben since 2009, and they live together for quite some time now.
According to a source, “He’d been considering breaking the news [about being gay] since same-sex marriage became legal in the state of New York last summer. It’s been about a year now, and he wants to get married to Ben. They’re totally committed to one another. There are few other details about this rumor, other than that most of us probably won’t be invited.”
Anderson is the youngest son of Gloria Vanderbilt, who has reportedly given the couple helpful hints on how to keep their relationship together.
