Arrested Development creators have announce a new upcoming season. Against the expectations of everyone, the creators of the TV series will continue the show.
Mitch Hurwitz says a new season of the show is coming up and that a movie of the franchise has also been planned and will get to the production stage soon.
The television writer and producer reportedly announced at a cast reunion recently that the upcoming season will have between 9 and 10 episodes. He also gave a gist of what fans should watch out for.
He revealed that, “We’re kinda picturing it like…there’s all these scientists in lab coats and they’re waiting for somebody and Buster comes through the door wearing a lab quote and says ‘let’s begin,’ and they say, ‘you don’t get to wear the lab coat, we’re experimenting on you.”
It is currently not known which network will air the upcoming series. Before the comedy ended, it was aired on FOX but it is not clear if the network will be ready. Showtime and Netflix are reportedly considering putting an offer for the new episodes.
The Arrested Development series was cancelled about five years ago. Showtime was one of the networks that tried to get the show back but failed. The cast members are Jason Bateman, Portia de Rossi, Will Arnett, Michael Cera, Alia Shawkat, Tony Hale, David Cross, Jeffrey Tambor, and Jessica Walter.
