Ashley Olsen Retiring – Due to dealing with a vigorous schedule as a child actor and other successful business ventures, 25-year-old Ashley Olsen has decided to retire from acting, according to a report by E! News.
In the April issue of ELLE U.K. Ashley said, “We worked non-stop until we were 18. Then we decided to take a break and go to school — and that was when we decided to question whether we would carry on in entertainment.”
Both Ashley and sister Mary-Kate have a couple fashion and accessory lines, that includes high-end brands such as “Elisabeth and James,” named after two of their half sibling’s, and “The Row.” They also have a line of girls clothing that is sold in North American Walmart stores.
“It was time to step behind the process. I wanted to work on other things. It doesn’t mean I’m not interested in Hollywood, I like the way it operates and the people who are involved and the sense of possibility,” Ashley explained.
“But if I ever do get back in, it’s not going to be as an actress.”
The Olsen sister’s first became famous for their shared role as Michelle Tanner, on the ABC sitcom “Full House” from 1987 to 1995. The sister’s have co-starred together in over 15 different movies between 1992 and 2004.
While Ashley may be deciding to part ways with Hollywood, half sister Elisabeth just debuted in her first film as an actress last year in “Martha Marcy May Marlene,” a psychological thriller that saw a limited release in the U.S.
