Ashton Kutcher has replaced Charlie Sheen on Two and a Half Men and it didn’t take CBS or Chuck Lorre very long to get the show rolling again.
There is no mention of Charlie Sheen anywhere in the new promotional materials. Instead, the network welcomed the new addition to the stage, and it was all applause. The TV series now has someone big and funny that can relate to viewers.
Kutcher took the stage with Jon Cryer and TV son Angus T. Jones. No one even mentioned Sheen by name. It’s a new beginning for CBS.
Kutcher started off by referencing the piles of cash that surround everyone involved with Men, noting, “I’ve never, probably in my 13 years of show business, received more emails or calls congratulating me about getting a new job. I almost think I won the lottery. Which I kind of did.”
The six-foot-two Kutcher towered over Cryer and Jones, leading Cryer to quip, “Did you have to get such a tall guy?” Jones kept mum during the entire presentation, but appeared pleased that production on further episodes of Two and a Half Men would go forward. In fact, the entire crew is ready to get back to work.
It’s also time to for Charlie to cancel his ‘Torpedo’ shows. He lost a lot of respect from this ordeal and it will be difficult for him to return to fame. Only time will tell what happens in the lawsuits between Sheen and CBS.
