Actress Audra McDonald married fiance Will Swenson over the weekend. McDonald is best known for her role as Dr. Naomi Bennett on Private Practice from 2007-2011.
McDonald and Swenson got married on October 6, 2012 at their home in Croton-on-Hudson, New York. The 42-year-old actress wore a designer wedding dress by Esosa.
McDonald and Swenson got engaged last winter while vacationing in Puerto Rico. While newlyweds they told People that they look forward to their new life together as husband and wife and “wee posse of three,” referring to the three children they now have between them.
Audra has an 11-year-old daughter named Zoe Madeline from her marriage to Bassist Peter Donovan and Will has two sons, Bridger, 11, and Sawyer, 8, from his marriage to Amy Westerby.
This now happily married couple met in 2007 when they both starred in Broadway’s 110 in the Shade. Swenson is an actor, writer and film director; he is most popularly known for his work in musical theatre, and he recently played Tick in the “Priscilla Queen of the Desert.”
Following the big day, the actress tweeted, “Well that was just the best day ever.#SadieSadiemarriedlady.”
