Baldwin Boycott – Alec Baldwin has opened a new can of worms when he went on Saturday Night Live, because now the American Airlines flight attendants want to start a boycott against him.
The first thing they want to do is have the actor removed from their in-flight entertainment videos.
The 30 Rock star has not commented on the new call to action, but did say he was only poking fun at the airline during the ‘SNL’ appearance.
The boycott is due to the 53-year-old actor angering a flight attendant on December 9 by playing words with friends at the gate while waiting for his flight to take off.
A spokesperson for the airline said that flight attendants were simply following “federal safety regulations regarding electronic devices.”
Needless to say, Baldwin was escorted off of the airline flight bound for New York.
A war of words between airline bosses and the star has since ensued, and Baldwin made matters worse when he appeared on Saturday Night Live at the weekend on December 3 and made a mockery of the incident.
A statement from the union reads, “The Apfa has requested that American Airlines remove the show from future flights, but would be agreeable to implementing it again if and only if Mr. Baldwin publicly apologizes to American Airlines flight attendants.”
Baldwin already issued an apology to his fellow passengers last week He insisted that he never meant to disrupt the flight and cause a delay.
