Benicio Del Toro As Star Trek Villain, JJ Abrams Confirms

Benicio Del Toro Star Trek – Benicio Del Toro has been offered the villain role in “Star Trek” Sequel — Is Khan? JJ Abrams confirms. The actor asked to fill the spot n the upcoming sequel to the 2009 franchise-reboot movie. So far, Abrams and the team maintained strict control over the details of the new Paramount film, and the main villain’s identity is a closely guarded secret.

But that could give us a clue on who might be to show up?

Maybe so, and on top of my list of best-guess it’s a household name, maybe Benicio? No, but maybe.

There have been some indications of possible. Screenwriters Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman have explained that they were watching old episodes of the original series a bit of inspiration, and on behalf of an individual, was on par. The same name, in fact, that J.J. Abrams said in a moment.

Khan, as in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. Ricardo Montalban made famous character, and is considered one of the best (if not the best) Star Trek villains ever created. And personally, I imagine Del Toro deliver a great performance and worthy as Khan.

It makes sense that while the franchise reboot created a new timeline and allows entirely new adventure that will take place, it is also true that many of the same threats from the original timeline still exists. Benicio could help boost the movie.

So Khan is still there, sleeping and waiting to be awakened by who has the misfortune to find his boat. It would be interesting to see the company run into him again, but this time with results that can be very different.

I could be wrong, and this is pure speculation, of course, and a lot of fingers crossed for me. But I think it’s possible it would be very surprising, and when I think del Toro and wonder what’s the big secret about the identity of the villain, Khan seems a very plausible option.
