Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert have been fielding questions about when they will have a baby, even though they haven’t even been married for a year.
Speaking to both People an Us Weekly Monday night at the 2012 Fun Fearless Awards, Shelton made it clear they are focusing on their careers, and each other first and will think about kids in a few years.
The 35 year-old Shelton told People, “It’s just so easy with her; we have so much fun being natural. We are more concerned with how to protect what’s going on now than things we need to change.”
He went on to tell reporters, “We just spent a week together in Oklahoma and we actually talked about that. I think we both agreed that we’re a couple of years away from seriously talking about that.”
“There is a lot [career wise] that is happening right now and it only happens once,” continued Shelton. “We want to enjoy this and be able to focus on our careers so when it is time we’ll be ready to sit around and watch that happen.”
Shelton expressed that he believes when the time comes, that his currently 28-year-old wife would make a great mother. “If she’s anything with an actual human being like she is with the dogs, the kid’s going to be golden,” Lambert concluded.
