Bobbi Kristina is getting her own reality show on Lifetime called “The Houstons: On Our Own.” The show will focus on reality segments of Kristina and her family’s attempt to help deal with Whitney Houston’s death. The series will premiere on Oct. 24.
The 19-year-old daughter is the offspring of Houston and R&B singer Bobby Brown and is called “Krissy” by her family.
The 14-episode season of The Houstons “will follow (Pat), Krissy’s aunt, guardian, manager and executor of Whitney’s estate, as she tries her best to keep this large family together as they help Krissy deal with the loss of her mother in a healthy way and grow into a talented and beautiful young woman,” Lifetime’s release reads.
Leading up to the new Kristina series, Lifetime will also air Remembering Whitney on Oct. 17. The one-hour special will include interviews with the late singer, as well as never-before-seen footage of her, home videos, family photos and interviews with family members like Bobbi Kristina, Pat, Gary and Cissy Houston.
The executive producers are Julie Insogna-Jarrett, Seth Jarrett, Tracey Baker Simmons, Wanda Shelley as well as Lifetime’s Rob Sharenow, Gena McCarthy and Noah Pollack.
The reality show series is also produced by Jarrett Creative.
Houston died on Feb. 11, the weekend of the 2012 Grammy Awards show, after accidentally drowning in the bathtub of her room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
One of the most successful recording artists of all time, Houston has sold more than 170 million albums worldwide.
