Bobby Brown has been told by Whitney Houston’s family to stay away from the funeral.
According to Bobby Brown, there is no tension between him and Whitney Houston’s family, but there are several reports from family members who have asked the former R&B star not to go to the funeral on Saturday.
In response to the reports, Brown’s rep stated, “Any report or statement that does not originate from my office about Bobby Brown or his representatives, is not authorized by Bobby Brown. We are not focused on reports, stories or false reports, for that matter.”
A family member of the late singer confirmed to ABC News Tuesday night, “While many people in the family don’t want Brown to attend the private, invite-only, Saturday funeral, they can’t stop him because of his daughter with Houston, Bobbi Kristina.”
Bobbi Kristina was hospitalized for stress and anxiety, after she heard about the death of her mother.
“My daughter Bobbi Kristina is doing much better,” Brown said in an email statement to ABCNews.com Tuesday. “We continue to provide love and support to Bobbi Kristina. She is dealing with the tragedy of her mother’s death and would prefer to do it outside of the public eye. I ask again that our privacy be respected.”
