Brandon Routh and his wife, Courtney Ford, have welcomed their first baby, a son named Leo James, weighing 8 pounds. It’s a great year for the actor because his new CBS comedy, “Partners” it set to premiere later this month.
“We’re in awe … we can’t take our eyes off him!” the couple told People magazine, while Brandon, 32, added his wife is a “rock star.”
Courtney, 34 (best known for her roles on “True Blood” and “Parenthood”), and the “Superman Returns” star met in 2003 and married in 2007. They confirmed they were expecting a child in March.
The actor also admitted he found it hard to keep it a secret, and was relieved when he shared the news with his castmates. Ford confessed she also felt guilty about having to lie about her pregnancy, and that she was overjoyed when she finally shared the truth with her co-stars. “It started getting difficult to hide what was happening,” she said.
“Flu and food poisoning excuses only work for so long, and by the last episode I could no longer button my pants!,” Ford added. “I just tried to joke that I had a big lunch.”
Routh met Ford at a bar, but he was destined for bigger things, scoring big roles in cult favourite “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World” and TV hit “Chuck,” as well as his best known role.
Ford has also had a reasonably successful career, previously winning a role in serial killer show “Dexter” and recently featuring as Portia Bellefleur in “True Blood.”
