Singer Britney Spears listed her California mansion for $2,995,000, but it ended up selling for $4,253,000. Although, it is still considerably less than what she paid for it in 2007. Spears bought the home in the gated community of Summit, which is located in Beverly Hills, for $6.8 million.
The recording artist and her management team deliberately listed the home at such a low starting price in the hopes of starting a bidding war between multiple bidders. However, after receiving the $4.253 million offer, she decided to accept it.
With Spears’ court ordered conservatorship still in place, that meant that the sale of the home would have to be approved in a hearing next month, where anyone else who wanted to try to purchase the home could show up and make a higher bid.
According to TMZ, Spears had her lawyers ask that a judge cancel the required hearing, and the judge granted the request.
The Mediterranean-style property has 7,453 square feet of living space, with five bedrooms and six bathrooms and is the location were Spears had her head shaving meltdown that led to her being taken out of the home strapped down to a stretcher in 2008.
Spears won’t have to fret too much over the loss she will be taking on the home as she recently signed a one year $15 million-dollar deal to be a judge on the upcoming season of the ‘X-factor” in the United States.
