Singer Carnie Wilson has had a lifetime battle with weight loss leading to a gastric bypass surgery 12 years ago, after she hit 300 pounds when she was only 5’3.”
Recently, she revealed that she once again had lap-band surgery. After her first surgery in 1999 she famously lost 150 pounds, and even posed in Playboy in 2003 to show off her new body. However, after a few more years she started to gain the weight back, and in 2006 she was a member of the cast on VH1’s “Celebrity Fit Club.” She lost some weight during the show but she eventually also gained that back to.
By 2008, she was being ridiculed once again with her weight gain. She then vowed she would lose the weight and get back into Playboy shape and pose for them again.
Wilson claimed that dieting never worked, and that having children derailed her. Now after apparently still struggling to lose weight, she revealed that she decided to have lap-band surgery.
She says that a silicone rubber band like strap was placed around her stomach to reduce it down to a pouch as big as a golf ball during a procedure back in January.
The 43-year-old Wilson tells People.com, “It was the right decision for me and I’m doing really well so far.” Adding, “It’s all about taking good care of myself.”
Since the January 18th surgery Wilson says she has dropped 30 pounds and is still working on more.
