Carole King Plays Holiday Tunes On ‘Today’

Carole King – Carole King is not just for the baby boomers anymore as all age groups were seen bouncing to the music, in New York, where ‘Today’ featured Carole King in the Toyota Concert Series on Tuesday, November 22, 2011. Carole is introducing her first holiday album, Carole King: A Holiday Carole.

When asked by Matt about how hard it was to produce, she said,

“It all just came so easy, even Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, just doing it – it came out of me.” King then said that she loves a mix of Christmas music.

The singer then proceeded to play Every Day is a Holiday. Performing with a jazzy feel the tune is sure to be a hit. The video of this performance is included in the video box to the left.

She then performed the song ‘I Feel the Earth Move” the smash hit from 1971. The crowd loved the performance as evidenced by the bouncing heads and smiles. Ann Curry seemed to really enjoy the song, quipping,

Carole King still has plenty of zest and enthusiasm, sometimes bouncing off her piano bench more than she sits on it.

In the 70’s Carole had hits such as Your So Vain, You’ve Got a Friend and Natural Woman. 90’s children might remember Natural Woman from the hair coloring commercials featuring the song as branding with the product.

Carole King’s holiday album is available now.
