Carrie Fisher In Squabble Over Star Trek

Carrie Fisher Star Trek – Carrie Fisher has fired back again at William Shatner for comments he made in September that Star Trek is better than Star Wars. She hotly rebuffed Captain Kirk’s assertions that his TV show was better than her movies.

“First of all,” Shatner said in a recent interview, “‘Star Wars’ is derivative of ‘Star Trek’ by what…10, 15, 20 years? DERIVATIVE!”

“‘Star Trek’ had relationships and conflict among the relationships, and stories that involved humanity and philosophical questions,” he said in the video chat that he tweeted to his fans. “‘Star Wars’ was special effects!”

In an interview posted on her YouTube, Fisher said, “They’re not in the same league. I mean, they have the word ‘Star’ in the title.” She knocked Star Trek’s budget: “Maybe it’s just their ‘effects,’ they’re not called ‘special effects’ in the case of Star Trek.”

Shatner also suggested that the Star Wars cast had performed naked and had their costumes added with special effects because they couldn’t fit into them.

“He says we were all naked because they can draw bathing suits? Really? I don’t think so, Carrie said.

In response to Shatner’s claims Fisher never fit into Princess Leia’s famous metal bikini, she cracked, “By the way, Bill has borrowed it,” and she challenged him to a costume-off.
