Charlize Theron has surprised everyone by confirming the adoption of a baby boy on Wednesday.
Obviously happy news for the first-time mother who, by one source telling People, that Theron “has been trying to adopt a baby for a long time.”
The statement released by the spokeswoman read: “Charlize Theron has adopted a child. She is the proud mom of a healthy baby boy named Jackson.”
Theron, “has been very patient and has a great attitude,” the source says. “[She] is ecstatic about finally becoming a mom.”
The 36-year-old South African native may be a single parent but, apparently will still have some help in raising Jackson.
The source continued to tell People that, “Charlize’s mom [Gerda] has been helping out with the baby. She seems so happy and will be a great mom.”
Theron has never been married, and in 2010 ended a nine-year relationship with Irish actor Stuart Townsend. She became a naturalized US citizen in 2007 but still maintains her South African citizenship as well.
