Cher has become a target of Amanda Bynes on twitter with rants calling her ugly and a feud that seemed to go on forever. Fans have described it as “difficult” to read as one legendary performer is being heckled by a child star who is out of control.
“I never understood the thing about not saying you’re sorry because it’s so easy…it doesn’t take any time and it just dissolves all the bad feelings,” Cher told E! News, explaining why she ended her mini-feud with the Sydney White actress.
“It just lets it go, and we can’t hold on to that kind of stuff. It makes you sick,” she added.
The Twitter feud between the two began after a fan asked the If I Could Turn Back Time entertainer if she was upset that Bynes called her “ugly and a flop.”
Cher’s response was, “Who’s that?”
Then, Bynes tweeted: “This is my twitter. I say whatever I want. Thanks!”
“You got That One Right! Sorry about shade, Sweet-Heart, it was unintentional…Promise,” Cher apologized.
The singer also said she prefers to mentor the younger generation on Twitter, rather than argue with them. “It’s a rough time in history for kids,” Cher said.
She noted the 40 year difference between her and Amanda: “Sex didn’t kill you when I was young and people weren’t trying to blow up buildings.”
Cher says she feels a lot of compassion for young kids today who are growing up in today’s world.
“It’s really rough. That’s why I do a lot of tweeting…I feel kind of like a mother.” Cher says it’s something that gives them a little insight into things and it doesn’t make them think that all grownups are the enemy.”
