Chuck Norris knows a thing or two about turning 74-year-old, but it’s difficult for fans to believe his age. Norris still appears young and is involved in martial arts and yoga, which could be why he still looks young.

The actor received several birthday wishes from Facebook and Twitter. Some of them are hilarious, including phrases like how he “doesn’t call the wrong number, you answer the wrong phone.”

Norris Learns Martial Arts

Norris served in the United States Air Force and learned martial arts when he was stationed in Korea. Soon after, he became a world middleweight boxing champion in 1968, was named fighter of the year by Black Belt magazine and opened martial arts schools in Southern California.

The tough actor is among a small number of conservatives in the entertainment business. In 2007, The Telegraph named Norris one of 100 most influential conservatives, ahead of Ann Coulter, Pat Buchanan and Bill O’Reilly. At one point, his endorsement of former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee in 2007 catapulted him to frontrunner status for a short time in the 2008 presidential race.

One of his friends, actor Steve McQueen, encouraged Norris to become an actor to show off his martial arts skills.

Norris was in a number of action films that catapulted him to stardom. He is best known for his roles in movies like The Delta Force, Mission in Action, Lone Wolf McQuade, Way of the Dragon and The Expendables 2.
