Bill Murray dives into garbage dumpster on "Late Show" with David Letterman.

Bill Murray dumpster Letterman stunt act. It was crazy watching Bill Murray on David Letterman as he dove into a dumpster and injured his head. The comedian played down the injury, but you can tell that the Late Show host seemed a bit concerned over the stunt.

Murray, 59, was no-show at the Cinema Society screening and party for his latest film. He was supposed to join co-stars Sissy Spacek and Robert Duvall. Apparently, the legendary comedian didn't show up because of a head injury while taping the dumpster-diving stunt for the Letterman.

Dressed in red shorts and black socks, Murray dived into a plastic-lined trash dumpster filled with water and garbage. It was placed outside the Ed Sullivan Theater. After he jumped into the makeshift pool, the comedian appeared on the David Letterman set.

You can tell by the photo above, that Murray does have a head injury. There is speculation that he nicked his noggin on a ladder that was mounted on the side of the dumpster. However, he didn't seem concerned about the cut and a makeup artist tended to the wound during a commercial break.
