Actor Dan Frazer has passed away at the age of 90 in New York. It was reported by his daughter Susanna that he passed away of cardiac arrest on December 16th.
Frazer played Cpt. Frank McNeil in the 1970’s television series Kojak, the supervisor of Telly Savalas’s character. In recent decades, he was a detective on the daytime soap “As The World Turns.”
Frazer got his acting career started in the 1950’s and roles in films such as “Take the Money and Run,” “Cleopatra Jones,” “Deconstructing Harry,” and “Gideon’s Trumpet.”
Other then Kojak he could be seen in other television series such as “Law & Order,” “Car 54,” “Barney Miller,” and “Route 66.”
Dan Frazer was an adviser to the Workshop Theatre Co and a member of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Kojak was ranked number 18 on TV Guide’s “Greatest TV Characters of All Time” list in 1999.
