Dave Matthews Tour Begins May 18

Dave Matthews Band announces their summer tour dates for 2012.

The Charlottesville, Virginia formed rock band announced their summer tour dates on Wednesday.

They will include two performances at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) on Friday, June 8 and Saturday, June 9. In addition, the DMB will head to the Darien Lake Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, July 3; all the shows will begin at 7 PM.

Lettuce, a funk band that originated in Boston, will be opening for DMB at their SPAC shows and Brandi Carlile, a folk-rock singer-songwriter, will open at the Darien Lake Performing Arts Center.

Members of the DMB Warehouse Fan Association will be able to purchase their ticket’s online Thursday, February 16 on its official website.

However, the general public will not be allowed to purchase their tickets until Friday, March 9, at 10AM to purchase their tickets through Live Nation; they will range from $40.50 to $75.

Besides announcing their tour, the Dave Matthews band stated that they were currently working on recording a new studio album.

The band consists of Dave Matthews (vocals, guitar), Stefan Lessard (bass), Carter Beauford (drums), and Boyd Tinsley (violin). The Grammy Award winners have sold more than 17 million tickets since its formation in 1991, and a collective 37 million DVDs and CDs combined.
