Family and friends bid a final farewell to disco queen Donna Summer during an emotional funeral in Nashville, Tenn., on Wednesday.
The Associated Press reports around 1,000 mourners gathered at the city’s Christ Presbyterian Church to pay tribute to the 63-year-old music icon, who died last week after at battle with lung cancer.
Summer’s producer and close friend David Foster performed “The Prayer” with Natalie Grant, while the late star’s sisters, Linda Gaines Lotman, Mary Ellen Bernard, Dara Bernard and Jenette Yancey, sang moving gospel anthem “We’ve Come This Far By Faith.”
Other guests included producer Giorgio Moroder and singer Tony Orlando.
Summer, who was buried in a rose-covered casket, is survived by her husband, Bruce Sudano, and three daughters.
