Dorothy Hamill is among 11 participants this season in “DWTS” this season, including Wynonna Judd and Andy Dick. The roster is definitely an interesting one for season 16.
The contestants are all celebrities as they compete for the mirrored ball trophy. Can Hamill win? It’s anybody’s guess.
Just about everyone on the “Dancing with the Stars” roster has a familiar face, and joining Hamill will be standup comedian D.L. Hughley, Baltimore Ravens football player Jacoby Jones and former “American Idol” contestant Kellie Pickler.
Also on hand will be former welterweight boxing champ Victor Ortiz, “General Hospital” star Ingo Rademacher, actress-singer Zendaya Coleman and Lisa Vanderpump from “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” as well as Olympic gold-medal gymnast Aly Raisman.
In past seasons, a celebrity contestant was paired with a professional dancer. However, all contestants for this season are celebrities, which is quite surprising.
Past contestants include professional and Olympic athletes, supermodels, actors, singers, astronauts, and teen-heartthrobs. Each couple performs predetermined dances and competes against the others for judges’ points and audience votes. The couple receiving the lowest combined total of judges’ points and audience votes is eliminated each week until only the champion dance pair remains.
Get ready, because the new “DWTS” season kicks off on ABC with a two-hour premiere on March 18.
