Elle DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi bought a new $26.5 million, 6-bedroom, 7-bath mansion in California to add to their growing digs. The couple could be considered real estate royalty in Santa Barbara.
They are the happy owners of a 10,522-square-foot, 6-bedroom, 7-bathroom Montecito, Calif. vista that most can only dream of.
The luxury pad, which spans 13 acres of land, is decked out with nine fireplaces and a pool with an ocean view. But this isn’t DeGeneres’ only abode.
The 55-year-old daytime talk show host also owns homes in Beverly Hills and Hidden Valley as well as several other properties in the Los Angeles area.
A large property portfolio comes with a lot of responsibilities and DeGeneres recently had a scare on May 5 when her farm in the Camarillo area of California was threatened by a blaze.
“It was really scary. There were fires everywhere. This was our farm. I wasn’t there,” she said on her show at the time of the forest fires. “We had someone there taking care of it. We had to evacuate the horses and [it was as] scary as can be.”
When it was deemed out of harm’s way, she praised the fire-fighters who were quick to act.
“The firefighters are amazing,” she added. “You women and men who do this are amazing … They were on our property. And we had 16 firefighters that spent the night there … Amazing.”
