Emilia Clarke, who appeared in Game of Thrones, will appear in the upcoming Terminator remake as Sarah Connor. Clarke will be working again with director Alan Taylor, with whom she worked on the hit HBO series.
Taylor also directed “Thor: The Dark World” and will be working with Annapurna Pictures and Skydance for the film’s production. The script is written by Laeta Kalogridis, who wrote “Avatar” and “Shutter Island,” with Patrick Lussier, who penned “Drive Angry.” The film is expected to be released on June 26, 2015.
However, the Emilia isn’t the only Clarke who’s gearing up to star in the highly anticipated reboot.
Jason Clarke, who starred in “Zero Dark Thirty” and “The Great Gatsby” recently, is also in talks to play John Connor, her son who is shown in a future storyline.
And, as if this even needs any mention, Arnold Schwarzenegger is also joining the film in his famous role. It’s been reported that the casting directors narrowed down their search for the perfect Sarah Connor and Brie Larson. Both stars auditioned for producers at Skydance and Annapurna production studios as well as Paramount.
The four Terminator movies have grossed over more than $1 billion cumulatively thus far at the worldwide box office.
Despite its past success, Schwarzenegger’s return is due to go toe-to-toe with some pretty hefty summer films.
Also set for release in summer 2015 is the highly anticipated Star Wars sequel, The Avengers 2, Pirates of the Caribbean 5, The Smurfs 3 and Independence Day 2.
