Enlightened Renewed By HBO For Second Season

Enlightened Renewed – HBO has announced that after the first season of “Enlightened”, it will be renewed for a second season.

The first season of the show that stars Laura Dern included 10 episodes and HBO has ordered 10 more for the next season.

Enlightened is about a fictional character named Amy Jellicoe, played by Dern, a self-destructive executive after having destroying her professional life and has a philosophical awakening in rehabilitation, struggles to get her life back together.

Other cast members of Enlightened who have had their jobs renewed include Diane Ladd, playing Dern’s mother and Luke Wilson. who plays her ex-husband.

At the same time of announcing the return of “Enlightened,” HBO axed three other series which include “Hung”, which ran for three seasons. “Bored to Death,” that featured Zach Galifianakis and Ted Danson and also ran for three seasons. And finally “How to Make it in America,” which only ran for two seasons to a small audience viewership.

The network also announced that it will incorporate six new shows into it’s line-up in the coming year. HBO’s programming, which requires am extra subscription cost in cable and satellite bills, consists mostly of theatrically released movies and original series, documentaries, boxing matches, and occasional stand-up comedy and concert specials. Fans are glad that Enlightened renewed after speculation that the series was going to cancel.
