Etta James – James, best known for her song “At Last, is in the hospital and appears to be close to the end with her fight with leukemia. She was taken on Thursday after her health had gotten much worse from her struggle with the cancer she was diagnosed with early in the year.
James had been hospitalized back in May for complications from a urinary tract infection and sepsis which is a blood infection.
It was also revealed in 2009 that Etta suffers from Alzheimer’s disease.
Just a week ago James’ manager, Lupe De Leon, said that the singer is “in the final stages of leukemia, and has been diagnosed with both dementia and Hepatitis C.”
James has been placed on oxygen and is being comforted by her husband and two sons while she was under around the clock care in her home.
Now De Leon confirmed via Twitter that Etta has been moved to the hospital.
Throughout her life, Etta James has suffered from an addiction to drugs mainly heroin and later in life pain killers. She has been married to her husband Artis Mills since 1969 who also has had a struggle with drugs.
