It turns out a recent tweet from the real Will Smith on the Trayvon Martin case and Kim Kardashian is not actually the real Will Smith, but instead a fake.
You may have seen the tweet from the account of @RealWillSmith since it has gone viral, which reads, “WE live in America where a girl that threw flour on Kim Kardashian was arrested on site. But the man who KILLED Trayvon Martin is still free.”
The avatar that accompanies the tweet also shows a picture of the real Will Smith the actor. The problem is the real Will Smith the actor does not have a Twitter account. Instead, the account was found to belong to a white man who lives in Tennessee.
The tweet fooled celebrities such as, Rosie O’Donnell, Omarosa and one of Smith’s good friends Spike Lee.
Apparently, if the name title has the word ‘real’ in it, it must be a fake. Another fake tweet was made by another imposter that goes by the handle of @RealFerrelWill.
The tweet from @RealFerrelWill read, “R.I.P. Trayvon Martin. For every R-T this tweet gets, $1 will be donated to the #TrayvonMartin Foundation, which helps counteract racism.”
After several hundred people, including other celebrities re-tweeted the message thinking it was from actor and comedian Will Ferrel, it was discovered to be a fake.
