Forbes: Lady Gaga Named Top Earner In Female Music

Forbes has named Lady Gaga the top earning women in music for 2011, raking in $90 million for the year from her “Born This Way,” album and “Monster Ball Tour” and endorsement deals.

Over the course of a Gaga’s short career, she has sold an estimated 23 million albums and 64 million singles worldwide, making her one of the best-selling music artists of all time.

Taylor Swift was #2 on the Forbes list. She made $45 million in the past year with her ‘Speak Now’ album which was actually released in 2010 and the her tour she went on over the last year.

Right behind Swift making $44 million was Kate Perry who can thank the success and all the #1’s continuing to come of her 2010 Teenage Dream album and also her California Dreams tour.

After Perry there is a bit of a drop off to Celine Dion who made $19 million last year. Dion can credit most of her income to her new Las Vegas show. At #5 was Adele making $18 mill. Then there was another drop down to Alicia Keys at 6 making about $10 mill. for 2011.

Even though the list from Forbes comes at the end of the year the total’s are tallied from May of 2010 to May 0f 2011. Do you like Lady Gaga and her music?
