George Jones is being honored with the sausage he loved at breakfast, which led him to build a company and sell it to locally owned restaurants in Tennessee.
After he passed away, one of the restaurants decided to honor the singer’s memory … with a humongous meat event in George’s honor.
Brooks Shaw’s Old Country Store made several batches of the sausage balls for customers to enjoy, on the house. The store even put together a batch for his widow Nancy.
Jones shared the recipe with West Tennessee cook, Libby Murphy last year.
“It’s Bisquick, it’s sausage, cheese, and milk. It’s so easy, and they are so good. I’ve had six or seven already,” said restaurant owner Brooks Shaw.
Jones’ funeral was held Thursday at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville.
