Gwyneth Paltrow reveals news she is contemplating putting her career on hold to have another baby, and that her marriage to Chris Martin can sometimes be challenging.
The 40-year-old actress tells InStyle magazine that her marriage to Martin, who is the frontman for the band “Coldplay,” is “not always smooth sailing.”
The reason for the two sometimes clashing? “Probably our artistic temperaments together. Artists are sensitive; there are ups and downs, mood-wise. Musicians need a certain gravitas and focus in order to write,” Paltrow says.
Together with Martin, Paltrow has already had two children, 8-year-old Apple, and 6-year-old Moses. And even though she is 40 and admits at her age it might no be sensible, she is thinking of having one more baby.
“My brain says, ‘Oh, I think I’m done, the kids are big now and I don’t want to go back to changing diapers.’ But a part of me would love to have another. Of course, I’m old now,” she tells contactmusic.com
Paltrow also described her relationship with her children after they were born.
“When Apple was born, she had the hugest blue eyes. I looked into them and she was looking at me, and I felt like, ‘You are here to teach me everything,’ after Moses was born, I had postpartum depression. It was a difficult time and because of that, I believe I have an extra empathy for him and he for me.”
Paltrow says that due to her family, she has greatly reduced her work schedule, and it could be reduced even more with another baby.
“I look for an interesting supporting part about once a year. That’s the most I can manage. Some women can do it and that’s fantastic, but I can’t. You make choices as a wife and mother, don’t you? You can’t have it all. I don’t care what it looks like,” Gwyneth says.
