Gwyneth Paltrow is reportedly trying to stop Vanity Fair from publishing an article about her alleged denial of being in a secret relationship. Reports suggest Paltrow had a romance relationship with Miami billionaire Jeff Soffer, who recently married model Elle Macpherson.
The actress e-mailed friends back in June, saying if they’re asked for quotes or comments, to please decline. The story is going to run anyway, and the New York Post’s Page Six says one of the many topics she might be trying to avoid is gossip of an affair.
One Miami source told Page Six, “Vanity Fair is asking if Gwyneth had an affair with Jeff back in 2008 when he reopened the Fontainebleau. He flew her in for the party, and she stayed at his house.”
Gwyneth has been married to Coldplay’s Chris Martin since 2003 and they have two kids. If Vanity Fair is really going down this road, Gwyneth’s rep says it’s a dead end. The spokesperson “angrily” denied an affair with the hotel owner. “Jeff is a longtime friend of Gwyneth’s and there was no romantic relationship with him at all, He flew many of his friends to Miami that weekend — not just Gwyneth.”
Some people find it strange that they are publishing the piece. The Iron Man star and Shakespeare in Love Oscar winner isn’t exactly a tabloid gossip regular. Earlier this year she landed the cover of People as the World’s Most Beautiful Woman, while also topping a poll about most hated celebs, but most of the time we just hear about her kids.
The latest gossip does seem to be a lot of nonsense without any facts to back up the story.
