Heather Locklear is 50 this week just one month after announcement her engagement to Jack Wagner. She played Amanda Woodward on Melrose Place and he played the role of Dr. Peter Burns. This romance simmered for decades and now she’s engaged to her long-time love.
Other notable television roles played by Locklear include Sammy Jo Carrington on Dynasty, Caitlin Moore on Spin City and Officer Stacy Sheridan on T.J. Hooker. In 2007, she made the TV Guide & Entertainment Weekly’s “100 Greatest TV Icons” list. Heather also showed up on the big screen over the years, winning a satirical Razzie Award for her role in The Return of Swamp Thing. The actress might be 50, but she still looks great.
The 50 year-old also appeared in Firestarter, Money Talks, Uptown Girls and Flirting with Forty.
A reality show documenting Locklear and Wagner leading up to their marriage is possible but not probable. It seems Jack thought it might be a good idea but Heather was opposed to having her personal life scrutinized by reality television.
According to a source, “She considers herself a serious actress, and the thought of letting lights and cameras into her home in the morning before she puts on her makeup fills her with dread. Heather told Jack she’ll pull the plug on the wedding if he persists with the idea.” Locklear has no desire to go down the road of the Kardashians.
Locklear shares her 50th birthday today with several other powerful and beautiful women. Newswoman Barbara Walters turns 82, actress Catherine Zeta-Jones turns 42 and model Cheryl Tiegs turns 64.
