Jack Nicholson and son Ray make rare public appearance together over the weekend.

According to The Huffington Post, Ray Nicholson is the son of the 77-year-old actor and actress Rebecca Broussard. He has worked both in front of and behind the camera, including an assistant director role with “A Reunion.” The two have rarely been photographed together.

Nicholson made headlines Monday because of the uncanny similarities among the two at the same age. In addition to inheriting his father’s looks the 22-year-old is following in Nicholson’s footsteps when it comes to a career in show business. His son Ray has already served as assistant director on two films and had a small cameo in the 2006 flick The Benchwarmers.

The actor’s son Ray sports the same trademark grin as the pair posed together at the star-studded Apollo in the Hamptons event, which was attended by guests including Sir Paul McCartney, Barbra Streisand and James Brolin, Robert De Niro, Sting, Gladys Knight and Jon Bon Jovi.

Ray is the the youngest child in the Nicholson family.

According to The Inquisitr, “Don’t expect this to be a regular thing for Jack, though. He likes people knowing as little as possible about where he goes and with whom.”

While little is known about Ray’s family life, the actor has spoken about his daughter Lorraine:

“They’re great. I was never what you call a hands-on sort of father, but I’m lucky my kids have turned out the way they have … Parenthood is all about being in the lap of the gods. All you can do is your best.”

Jack Nicholson son Ray is starting his career just like his father. At the age of 22, Jack had just made his debut in 1959′s The Cry Baby Killer, while Ray — who aspires to be a director — already has two assistant director credits to his name.
